The 'Tall and Short' Of Things Around Here

There is another wave of marines getting ready to 'ship out' through-out the next month. But the Lord is 'shipping in' some new people too. Here is Bro. Rhee Joyce (who is leaving for this present Iraq) and our own Bro. David Shaller (who is a faithful brother).

Hi Sister,

This is Sis. Fields. I was wondering if I could put up a link to your blog on my blog? I just switched over to a new blog service and I'd like to add your site to my favorites. Please feel free to check it out:

Thank you! Hope you are doing well.

Sincerely,

Hello Sis,
So good to hear from you. The purpose of my creating this blogsite was to keep our military informed and inspired. A lot of times it is hard for them to re-adjust when arriving home... again,... and again,... and sometimes again and again. I find that this is due to the fact that the connections of friends and family have grown apart. People are always changing and adapting both here at home and abroad. I have not intended this to be part of any gossip network. Just something that helps maintain the ties and relationships of the home they know and love.

Having stated this, I have no problem with your posting a link to your site. I had not intended it to be for anyone here in our homeland, but I guess it can serve the same purpose here as well there.

God's blessings to all you there in Fort Drum, NY.

Sis. Annis

A Plea

God grant me these: the strength to do
Some needed service here;
The wisdom to be brave and true;
The gift of clear vision,
That in each task that comes to me
Some purpose I may plainly see.

God teach me to believe that I
Am stationed at a post,
Although the humblest 'neath the sky,
What I am needed most,
And that, at last, if I do well,
My humble services will tell.

God grant me faith to stand on guard,
Uncheered, unspoke, alone,
And see behind such duty hard
My service to the throne.
Whate'er my task, be this my creed:
I am on earth to fill a need.
